The Adventures of Morley

My photo
Krakow, Poland
I am currently living in the Pacific Northwest, spending my time working with students on Bainbridge Island in the Puget Sound in Washington state. I most recently returned from Krakow, Poland where I was working at an international school. I spent my youth (or much of it) in Europe: Belgium and then Hungary. I also lived in Bangladesh for a year, and Namibia for a summer. I love mountains and snow, but I am currently living in the land of heat, oceans, and jungles.

Windhoeked

Only one and a half weeks left of actual classes, where has this summer gone??
Since we've been back from Swakopmund, I have been struck by two colds, which zapped a lot of my energy and willingness to write.. or run..
My internship has been going relatively well, I haven't always had a lot to work on but I have had the opportunity to edit some very interesting documents, such as the Universal Periodic Review report submitted on behalf of Namibia, and a few legal documents sent to the High Court of Namibia. Only one full week at my internship left!

This Tuesday we are going to visit a conservancy about two hours drive outside of Windhoek, I am excited to be on the road again!

Went to a party in one of the mostly white neighborhoods outside of Windhoek, in the nicest house I have been in in quite some time. Met quite a few people there, danced to a lot of music, and really enjoyed it being summer time (despite the paper I have to work on this weekend!)

A group of students/teachers/profs arrived from the US funded by Fullbright. They are doing a travel seminar so are traveling around Namibia for the next few weeks, and staying here for the next couple of days.

Off to watch Lion King!
